My Story
I have once again registered for the Komen Colorado Walk in memory of my friend Eileen who passed away in 2021. Eileen was a breast cancer survivor and a passionate supporter of Komen and its mission.
Eileen was an amazing person--her outlook on life, and her "never give up" spirit in the face of major health issues was incredible. I admired her almost boundless empathy, and loved her sly and occasionally naughty sense of humor. While she never really talked about this--she had the gift of music--she once posted a video of her playing the piano, I think just a melody which came to her, and it was beautiful.
I humbly ask for your support in Eileen's memory, and for those just diagnosed, currently in treatment, in remission, or living with metastatic breast cancer.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s treatment assistance program, or help navigating their care journey, Komen will be there for them.
