Team Oh, Cancer Up Yours! is a reflection of the love and support of our family and friends. Oh, Cancer Up Yours is back with the same determination we have always had to raise funds to find a cure.
Each year, I am touched by yet another friend or family member who is diagnosed with cancer or is no longer with us. This year I am walking in honor of my dear friend, Lynette Hawkins. Many of you know her as the brilliant chef and owner of Giacomo's Cibo e Vino. All of us were amazed at her courage and dedication as she went through months of chemotherapy, surgery and radiation therapy. She was so focused on making sure the restaurant continued to provide the most incredible food and her amazing staff stepped up to make sure she could take the necessary time off to kick some serious cancer butt. This walk is for you, Lynette. Here's to many more years of good food and good friends who love you dearly.
