COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) INFORMATION
The health and safety of our participants, sponsors, volunteers and staff is our top concern. Therefore, our 30th Anniversary Race for the Cure will take place virtually on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Stay tuned to our social media channels, our emails and the Special Announcement section of this website for event updates.
30TH ANNUAL SOUTH FLORIDA RACE FOR THE CURE
We're so excited for our 30th Anniversary Race for the Cure in South Florida! The Komen Race for the Cure is a beautiful, event-filled celebration full of inspiration and hope. While we cannot gather in person this year, we invite you to join us in our mission to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our community and funding research breakthroughs for the cures by participating in our pre-event activities and virtual program on Race Day.
So what does virtual mean?
Instead of gathering on Flagler Drive in front of the Meyer Amphitheater this year we will gather together virtually. You can join with your team and walk in your favorite park, run in your neighborhood or even bike. We have a new app available on Apple and Android stores that will help make fundraising easy, track your steps, earn badges as you learn about breast cancer and connect with others.
We have a Facebook group where you can share ideas about your virtual experience and connect with others while we are apart. We encourage you to share your favorite Race memories and photos on the group. Join the Facebook group.
The morning of the event we will all come together virtually for the 30th Annual Warrior ceremony which is one of the most moving and healing parts of our community’s Race for the Cure. Watch on Facebook as you see your favorite WPTV News Channel 5 anchors Michael Williams and Kelley Dunn unite us all together in a powerful and uplifting ceremony. Afterwards we will walk together but apart taking steps to end this disease by funding Komen’s ground breaking research, advocacy and direct patient services.
JOIN US. SAVE LIVES.
Please spread the word and encourage others to join us in helping raise significant funds to support local programs and national cutting-edge research, which will enable us to save more lives from breast cancer. You have the power to change lives.
