This year, I joined the ONE Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen RACE FOR THE CURE. I am dedicated to Komen's ONE mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. In January 2023, I was diagnosed with Invasive Mammary Carcinoma and Mammary Carcinoma in-situ with calcifications in my right breast. The words “you have breast cancer” are never words you want to hear. So this year, I’m walking not only for myself, but for my friend Karen & her family, who lost their mother to breast cancer many years ago, for my friend Dana who BEAT cancer, my friend Holly who is currently fighting this disease, and for all impacted by the dreaded C word.
