Did you know that 1 in 8 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime? It’s your friend, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, it’s me.
This past year has consisted of 5 months of neoadjuvant chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, and 16 rounds of additional hormone-targeting treatments, and much more. I am grateful for my doctors and the aggressive regimen which eradicated any existing growths. Still, it’s been difficult to navigate what will be my new “normal”.
1 in 8 women. If you ask me, there’s nothing normal about that.
