In January of 2023 I was diagnosed with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. It had spread to my lymph nodes so there was no hope of a cure. The best we could hope for was to control the cancer with medication and stop it spreading.
Fast forward to now, April 2024 and the cancer has shrunk and hasn't spread any further. This was possible by the drug Kisqali made by Novartis. I am beyond grateful for the researchers and doctors and nurses that support Cancer patients like me. It is made possible by donations to cancer organizations all around the world and by Susan G Komen. It may be that the drug stops working, and I will have to start another treatment but I'm confident that there will be another treatment out there for me.
Your support helps us get ONE step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s treatment assistance program, or help navigating their care journey, Komen will be there for them
Like everyone else I thought this could never happen to me, but it did. And in a blink of an eye your life, and the life of your family and friends as you know it, is changed forever.
This year, I again joined the ONE Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen RACE FOR THE CURE. I am dedicated to Komen's ONE mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
I know times are hard for everyone and the cost of living has gone up, but in moments like this, your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side. Every amount helps, no matter how small.
Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
