September 2026 will mark four years since I entered remission from breast cancer. Participating in the Komen Tulsa Race for the Cure during that same month makes this race incredibly personal and meaningful to me.
I know firsthand how quickly a diagnosis can change your life and how much strength it takes to move through the fear, treatment, difficult decisions, and uncertainty that follow. I also know that survivorship does not mean the journey simply ends. The experience becomes part of who you are.... but so does the strength you discover along the way.
Reaching four years in remission is a milestone I do not take for granted. I am grateful to be here, able to move my body, continue challenging myself, and use my experience to support others affected by breast cancer.
I created this team because this race is about more than my story. We are walking and running for those currently in treatment, survivors learning to navigate life after treatment, the families and friends standing beside them, and the loved ones whose memories we continue to carry.
Every donation helps fund lifesaving research, patient support, education, and advocacy. Whether you join our team, participate alongside us, or make a donation, you are helping turn our steps into support and our hope into progress.
This September, I will celebrate four years in remission- but none of us takes this journey alone. Together, we can make every step count.
