Heather’s Breast Friends are taking on the Race for the Cure!
This year, I’m walking with my daughter Nora in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure as someone living with metastatic breast cancer. Everyone who joins gets a T-shirt. We also wear as much PINK as we possibly can.
Before the race officially begins, there will be a special Metastatic Breast Cancer Parade and recognition for those of us living with metastatic cancer. We’ll have a moment to be recognized and celebrated together before everyone heads out for the race.Yes. I get the unfortunate joy of participating in this parade
There are options to walk 3 miles or 1 mile, and I’ll be doing the 1-mile route with my team, “Heather’s Breast Friends”. If you would like to do more please do not let me hold you back. I’ll be at the finish line eating snacks and refreshments.
And this is where I need my people.
If you’re able, I’d be incredibly grateful for a donation to my fundraising efforts. Donations help Komen provide support, financial assistance, navigation services, and fund research for people facing breast cancer. I set my donation bar low, but I’d love to blow past that.
Every step matters. Every cheer matters. Every dollar matters. I need a cure Dammit!
Also sorry that it’s at the buttcrack of dawn.
