My Story

I first heard the words "you have breast cancer " days after celebrating my 50th birthday. The journey to the "survivor " club was a road that forever changed my life. I met amazing women in their 20's fighting for their lives. I met grandmothers, aunts, sisters all fighting for just another day. I saw firsthand the impact on my boys, my husband and my family and friends. I learned that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. I realized that more that 2million moms, sisters, aunts, wives would be diagnosed every year. I learned many women could not get care, did not take the time for their own health care. I also realized that the men were impacted but not aware of how to help.

The fight is real. Komen is changing lives. Saving lives. Join me, any step you take will make a difference. That difference might just be to help someone in your family.
