At 35 years old, in May 2026, I was diagnosed with early-stage invasive lobular carcinoma, a form of breast cancer. I receive care at MD Anderson and recently had a double mastectomy. I’m now in the middle of chemotherapy, with radiation still ahead. Through it all, I’ve been reminded just how fortunate I am to be surrounded by such an incredible village.
I'm now the third generation in my family to be diagnosed with breast cancer. My mom is a breast cancer survivor, and my late grandmother was a breast cancer survivor as well.
We Walk With Whit is made up of family, friends, coworkers, and all the people who have supported me and my family through this season. I’m walking for myself, for my mom, my grandmother, and for every person impacted by breast cancer. I hope this walk helps support more research, better treatments, and ultimately a future where families like mine can break this cycle. Most of all, I’m walking with so much gratitude for everyone walking beside me.
