Rebel Girls for the Cure is More Than Pink

Rebel Girls for a Cure

Our Story: Eight Girls, One Bond, One Mission

We were just eight girls walking the halls of high school together, graduating in the Class of 2000 -- full of big dreams, inside jokes, and the kind of friendships you think will last forever.

Life took us in different directions -- cities, careers, marriages, kids -- but our bond never faded. We've celebrated weddings, babies, birthdays, and milestones. We've supported each other through unimaginable grief, pain and suffering. Our bond grew stronger. Our husbands, partners, children, parents, siblings, and extended families became part of the our circle. What started as eight teenagers became a village -- cheering at games, showing up at birthday parties, supporting each other through life's highs and lows.

And then, breast cancer entered the story.

One of us heard the words no one is ever prepared for: "You have breast cancer." She faced surgeries, treatments, fear, and uncertainty -- but living proof that you can be a survivor.

Then, as if lightning could strike twice in the same circle, another of our sisters began her own battle. She is currently in active treatment, fighting with courage and grace every day.

We may not be walking the hallways of high school anymore, but we are still walking side by side -- and now our families walk with us.

Eight friends.

Two warriors.

Countless family members.

One unbreakable bond.

One powerful mission.

We walk with love, strength, and hope. And we're just getting started. #rebelpride
