This year, I joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure—and this one is deeply personal for me.
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in March 2020. What followed was one of the most challenging seasons of my life—months of chemotherapy from May through September, a double mastectomy in October, and then daily radiation treatments throughout January 2021. It tested me in ways I never imagined, but it also showed me just how strong and resilient we can be.
Today, I’m proud to stand as a survivor—and I’m walking not only for myself, but for everyone who is currently fighting, those who have fought, and those we’ve lost. I will always walk in honor of my aunts, Rose Strong, Renay Melvin and Lois Melvin, whose lives were taken by this disease. Their memory fuels my purpose and my commitment to this cause.
I am dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation in support of my fundraising efforts.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised support breakthrough research and provide critical assistance to those facing breast cancer—from financial support to patient navigation services that help break down barriers to care.
Ending breast cancer takes all of us. Your generosity truly makes a difference.
Will you join me in this fight by making a donation today?
Thank you for your love, support, and for standing with me.
