Your gift could provide a one month supply of Tamoxifen, a drug used to treat breast cancers that rely on estrogen for growth, to a patient in need. Every 60 seconds, somewhere in the world, someone dies from breast cancer. Your gift will help save lives! Your gift could provide a screening mammogram to an uninsured or underinsured person in need. Your gift could provide a breast prosthesis for an uninsured or underinsured woman in need. My Story

Dearest Gentle Reader,

It is not often that one finds herself compelled to step boldly into the public eye, yet here I am-pen in hand, wit at the ready, and pink firmly in place. Allow me to introduce myself: I am Angel, the rather proud (and occasionally exhausted) Captain of Team Hakuna Ma Tatas.

Why, you may ask, would one assemble a team with such an audacious name? The answer, dear reader, is simple: this cause is deeply personal to me. Breast cancer has touched those I hold closest, and I found myself unwilling to stand idly by, sipping tea while others fought quietly. If there is one thing I have learned, it is that courage, solidarity, and a little humor go farther than the stiffest fan or the most scandalous gown.

Thus, Team Hakuna Ma Tatas was born-a troop of remarkable, spirited individuals ready to walk, laugh, and, yes, sometimes cry in honor of those navigating the trials of breast cancer. Our goal is nothing short of glorious: to raise funds that will assist women and men in their time of need, to provide care and support when it is most essential, and to advance the research that will one day render this disease far less fearsome.

But let us be candid: generosity, like fashion, is always in style. Every donation we receive-whether large, modest, or scandalously small-strikes another blow against a disease that has already taken far too much. Each contribution is a statement: that no one faces this battle alone, that hope is as vital as wit, and that kindness, dear reader, never goes out of fashion.

So, if your heart is inclined toward courage, community, and a little bit of mischief, I invite you to stand with us. Join Team Hakuna Ma Tatas. Walk with us in spirit, donate if you are able, and know that your support will make a tangible difference-today, tomorrow, and for generations to come.

With sass, sincerity, and unwavering determination,

Angel

Captain, Team Hakuna Ma Tatas

P.S. Let it be known that those who give in the name of hope, courage, and pink gowns will forever hold a place of honor in this author's column-and heart.
