This picture of Jill and I was taken at a Race for the Cure as we were walking to support my mother's breast cancer diagnosis in October of 2018, just weeks after her mastectomy and diagnosis. Little did we know at that time, that our lives would forever be changed when my partner herself was diagnosed with breast cancer in November of 2019.
Jill fought very hard to be cancer free, until May 2023 when we found out she had metastatic breast cancer that had spread through her entire body. Unfortunately, Jill lost her battle with breast cancer on May 22, 2024 just days after I completed the Race for Cure for her and my mother. This year, I will be walking to support my mom as a survivor and in memory of Jill.
Learning to live without Jill has been very difficult and while I know this year's walk will be tough for me, I know that through fundraising and events like this advancements in treatment and medication can be made. It's those advancements that allowed me to have almost 5 more years of making memories with her that I might have not otherwise had.
In moments like this, your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let's show breast cancer patients there's a whole community standing by their side and let's fight to find a cure to end breast cancer!
Will you please join me in this fight by joining my team to walk on May 16 in Columbus, OH or by making a donation to help me raise money to help continue the strides being made in breast cancer treatment and the fight for a cure?
