Four years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer — words that instantly changed my life. It has been a journey filled with fear, uncertainty, strength, and growth. While it was one of the scariest seasons of my life, it also reshaped me in ways I never expected. I am truly grateful for the perspective, resilience, and deep appreciation for life that came from it.
Since then, I’ve also faced additional surgeries for lipedema, continuing to fight for my health and mobility. Today, I’m proud to say I can walk the 5K at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure — something that once felt impossible.
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. I walk for myself, for the women beside me, and for the ones still fighting.
