This cause holds a special place in my heart, as I have not only witnessed the impact it can have on individuals and their loved ones, but I personally have been affected by it. In 2023 I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma In Situ (DCIS) which is a non-invasive form of breast cancer. It means that the cancer cells are confined to the milk ducts and have not spread to surrounding tissues. While it may sound less serious, it is still crucial to detect and treat it early. I am forever grateful that it was caught early! I chose to undergo a double mastectomy which was necessary to protect my health and future. It was the best decision I made, as I am now 2 years CANCER FREE!
