My story is a little unique. I formed this team to honor a woman I have never met Jennifer Randolph. Although I was never part of her journey, I have witnessed the pain and ravishing brutality of cancer in my family. Cancer robbed me and my family of two great men Randy and Joe Wurzelbacher as well as my lovely sister-in-law Kay. Cancer sucks but I will not let the unforgiving brutality of cancer define who these people were but will try to honor these precious souls on how they impacted me and the people around them. Randy and Joe left a legacy of what it meant for a man to love his family. Both men no matter how they felt always made sure their family was going to be taken care of. If that meant leaving the emergency room and driving six hours to get their family home or during the quite times. Sharing their love to those around them to reassure them it was going to be ok. Kay was gracious and loving to the very end always wanting to be the hostess no matter how she felt. I never met Jen, but I know her family and the bond Jen’s kids have is special and unique. Joshua, Jen’s son was 14 when his mother passed away due to breast cancer. I cannot imagine the pain of a son losing his mother at that age. What I can tell you is the impact and influence she imparted on Joshua. I know this because Joshua is married to my daughter, Bethany. Joshua is kind, loving , gentle and these traits along with his silly humor were passed down from Jen. The simple gestures of opening doors carrying groceries shows the respect and love he has for his mother. I never met Jen, but I have seen her in her son Joshua.
