Cindy Medina - Living with Metastatic Breast Cancer
Sorry I am a little late getting this out but please help if you can. I have been doing the race for the Cure since 2012 and in 2014 I was first diagnosed with breast cancer. After 6 months of chemo then lumpctomy followed by 33 radiation it was a very rough two years, getting back to normal.
I was on medication that was supposed to be 95% rate of NOT returning if you took it for 10 years. Well, I made it 9 years and 10 months. It returned to my backbone by fracturing my T-12 in back. That was in November 2023, surgery and radiation once again. I was on Kasugai for a year when it stopped working as the Cancer returned to my liver in November 2024. Again, more Radiation and change of medication. I am now on clinical trails and so far, so good it has not spread anymore. I am not looking forward to November 2025, that is when it usually returns somewhere else every year. I will never be cured, and I am currently what they call living the Metastatic Breast Cancer and will be like that for the rest of my life.
This year, I joined the race for the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. I am dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
No amount is to small ever little bit adds up.
Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
