As a member of this team, we are each playing a part in helping Susan G. Komen® in their ONE mission to end breast cancer forever. Cancer is something you always hear about, and pray it never hits home. When it does attack your family, It takes a village to fight it, because their fight is our fight.
Our grandma was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer on April 17th. Despite our collected hopes and prayers, the diagnosis came to late to give her the fighting chance she deserved. Her battle was lost just 24 days later, on May 11th. Her fearless heart, and fighting spirit inspired us all. Our grandma is someone who would give you the shirt off her back, and she forever put the needs of others before her own. If you knew her, you're one of the lucky ones. She was filled with so much knowledge and speedy to give life tips. She loved gardening, sewing, and cooking. So we are walking in HONOR of her. With every step we take, we carry her resilience and love. We walk not only for her, but also to advocate for a future where no other family has to endure the pain of losing a loved one to breast cancer. We Are Gigi's Legacy and we will walk to tell her story! Our journey is a testament to her strength, and the enduring bonds of family. Together, we stride forward, united in our mission to support each other and to find a cure.
Cancer cannot cripple love, it cannot shatter hope, and it cannot conquer the spirit.
The money raised will fund research to discover more effective treatments, as well as vital patient support to help connect people with things like breast cancer screenings, diagnostics, treatment assistance and so much more.
