Charlotte was a bright and vibrant woman ahead of her time. She was one of the few women graduating in the 1950s with a CPA degree. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, she also worked with numerous charities and was the person her many friends could rely on for advice. When her sister, Lucille, was diagnosed with breast cancer in her 30s, Charlotte offered her support. Lucille is a survivor.
In her early 40s Charlotte was diagnosed with breast cancer. She never complained and continued to put the others in her life as a priority. Her friends nicknamed her “the Rock.” Unfortunately, after a valiant fight over many years Charlotte lost her battle. Charlotte’s strength, energy and compassion are the motivation for creating Team Charlotte.
We walk to honor Charlotte and the many other women in our family and lives who have experienced breast cancer. We look forward to a day when our mothers, sisters, nieces, cousins, and friends do not have to worry about this disease. We are brave! We are strong! We are Team Charlotte!
