In March 2024, I was diagnosed with HERS 2 (Human Epidermal Growth Factor Receptor 2) Positive Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC).
Yes, I'm serious. I have never been in denial but I had to stop and re-evaluate what I am going to do about it.
In July, I joined and registered for the Susan G. Komen
RACE FOR THE CURE.
This event is one that you and I cannot miss joining in some way.
Volunteer, Register, Donate
or choose more than one way to give.
Volunteer and Donate
and cheer the walkers/runners on to the finish line.
This is a family friendly event, it is not partial to women only. If you have not donated to any charities this year, please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
This week, I got some very sad news about a colleague and friend passing. While I was getting my chemotherapy infusion, I read the news on my laptop while working remotely. While sometimes thinking I may join her, I realized that I must be here to help others.
Your support helps us get ONE step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s treatment assistance program, or help navigating their care journey, Komen will be there for them.
Without Cancer Care, I would not have received a wig for free after losing my hair. My doctors and nurses work so hard to give their patients their undivided attention. Say a thank you prayer for the doctors and nurses also.
Give to the memory of a lost loved one's birthday or anniversary. They won't be forgotten.
Cancer enlisted me to test my tenacity. Like soldiers must carry on to fight the best fight, we must carry on.
