My connection to this cause is personal - too many women in my family have battled this cancer. My grandmother, Loretta Davey, lost her fight to breast cancer in 1976. A lot of progress has been made since 1976 in cancer diagnosis, prevention, care and treatment since then - but it just isn't enough. 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. There is still a 1 in 40 chance that a woman will die from breast cancer. This is not acceptable. This is not the world I want my friends and family to live in. We have to do better.
