Friends and Family,

Another Race in the books! We had a picture perfect day and an even better group to complete the Race in Central Park. There were many fun pictures of the day, but I especially like this new one I have posted. It was wonderful to have my parents join me to celebrate this year of health. My sister Margaret is a fellow survivor and continues to inspire me with her joie de vivre. I just feel so grateful for family in my life!

I’m also grateful for YOU who have supported me many times over the years. One of the blessings of being affected by this disease is that you get to experience ‘the village’ of support. I thank you and look for ways to pay your generosity forward. Unfortunately, there are still too many people affected and the need continues. If you haven’t donated yet, there is still time. Every bit counts!

Thank you again from the bottom of my heart!

Karen

Pre Race Comments:

Hello Friends and Family!

It’s time again for Race for the Cure!  I welcome any of you to walk with me in NYC and certainly hope you will support me with a donation! There has been a lot of research and treatments that have come out of this fundraising. I know I have benefited from it.  Another important part of the Race is the AWARENESS of the disease, awareness of proactive measures to take and seeing people around you that are affected by it. When someone is diagnosed with breast cancer, they can reach out to these people and resources get through that initial challenging time of ‘what do I do’? Kind of like ‘The Girlfriends guide to Breast Cancer’.  So I’m celebrating another year as a survivor and looking to pay it forward for those yet to be diagnosed. I’m thankful for the awareness, research and support that Komen creates. Please join me in the fight against breast cancer by supporting my fundraising for Komen on Sept 8th.

Every little bit helps!

Karen

From Komen:

This year, I joined the ONE Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen RACE FOR THE CURE.  I am dedicated to Komen's ONE mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.

Your support helps us get ONE step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support.  Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s treatment assistance program, or help navigating their care journey, Komen will be there for them.

In moments like this, your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.

Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
