This year, I’ve joined the Susan G. Komen RACE FOR THE CURE in memory of Daisy Beaulieu and our beloved family friend Dominique Bartholomew and in honor of the early diagnosis and survival of my mother, Karen Johnson. I’m committed to honoring their lives, their stories, and helping to educate more young women, especially Black women, on the importance of breast health and early detection.
Black women in the U.S. are 40% more likely to die from breast cancer than white women, often due to later-stage diagnoses and higher rates of aggressive triple-negative breast cancer. I can't help but aspire to respond to this with, "Not on my watch."
Please consider supporting my 2024 fundraising goal of $1,000 by making a tax-deductible donation today. I also invite you to join me on Saturday, October 19, as I walk 1 mile to honor Daisy, Dominique, and my mom. Together, we can make a real difference!
