I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June of 2011. When I met with my surgeon, who was a Christian, she immediately informed me that this diagnosis WAS NOT A DEATH SENTENCE. From that point on I began to stand on God's word in Psalm 118:17 that says "I shall not die but live and declare the works of the Lord!" My surgeon also informed me that this breast cancer was very aggressive and that we would need to fight it very aggressively. I took chemo treatments every 3 weeks for 6 months. At the end of the 6 months, the lump and mass had been reduced significantly. My surgeon then informed me that she would be able to perform a lumpectomy which I had in January of 2012. On January 19, 2012, on my birthday, my surgeon informed me that I was CANCER FREE!!! The Lord is so faithful!!!
At the recommendation of my Radiologist, after the CANCER FREE diagnosis, I took radiation treatments 5 days a week for 6 weeks. I am grateful to be a Cancer Survivor and I am extremely grateful to be a Cancer Conqueror because God's Word tells me in Romans 8:37 "Yet in all these things we are more that conquerors through Him who loves us."
This year, I joined the ONE Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen RACE FOR THE CURE. I will be walking for all of the women who are on their breast cancer journey right now on their way to their CANCER FREE diagnosis. I am dedicated to Komen's ONE mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
Your support helps us get ONE step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s treatment assistance program, or help navigating their care journey, Komen will be there for them.
In moments like this, your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
Thank you in advance for your support, love and prayers.
