This year, I joined the ONE Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen RACE FOR THE CURE.
I'm walking in honor of my sister-in-law, Heather Young, who is currently bravely fighting her own battle with breast cancer at the age of 38. Heather is a radiant beacon of strength and resilience—a loving mother of two, who has always been the heart of our family and a protective "mama bear" to those around her. Mother’s Day weekend will forever be etched in our memories, as it marked the moment Heather received her diagnosis. Throughout this challenging journey, Heather has confronted every obstacle and medical emergency with remarkable courage and determination. As an advocate for mental health and a staunch proponent of actively engaging in one's own medical care, she exemplifies the power of perseverance and self-advocacy. Now, we want to demonstrate to Heather and everyone else fighting this disease that they are not alone. Through this walk, we aim to provide awareness, encouragement, solidarity, and hope to those in need of support.
Your support helps us get ONE step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s treatment assistance program, or help navigating their care journey, Komen will be there for them.
In moments like this, your generosity can make a real difference. By making a tax-deductible donation today, you contribute to the fight against breast cancer and support a cause that affects so many lives. Your contribution helps ensure that resources are available for breakthrough research and critical support services.
Together, let’s show breast cancer patients that there’s a whole community standing by their side. Let’s honor Heather’s strength and the strength of everyone facing this battle by coming together to support this vital cause.
Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today? Your support will help us move closer to a world where breast cancer is no longer a threat, and it will provide hope and assistance to those who need it most.
