11 - As I stop and reflect on that number I am filled with lots of emotions. I look back to September 11, 2018 that started out like any other day... until the doctor said that word, cancer. I fast forward to October 11th, almost 2 weeks after surgery. I met with my surgeon to go over the final pathology reports. Lymph nodes were clean, cells around the tumor were negative. According to Dr Saadey, this was the best news we could get. In his words.... A win. Everything since September 11th was a blur. Skip to January 11th, my final day of radiation. 7 grueling weeks of 5 days a week. So much happened in such a short time. Cancer patients and survivors reaching out to check on me. It really is a community like no other. All hoping for the same thing… A cure!
