On January 22nd, 2024, a few weeks after my 39th birthday, I was diagnosed with Ductal Carcinoma in Situ (DCIS) which is an early stage of breast cancer. I underwent a lumpectomy & reduction on March 5th. I will begin radiation the week of May 13th for 4 weeks/5 times a week. This will be followed by 5 years of Tamoxifen. 

I have been getting annual mammograms since 2017 & am extremely lucky that this was caught early. I did not have any signs or symptoms. Please do self exams & get mammograms - early detection is key. 

While this has been a difficult time, I am so thankful for my support system
