In April 2023, a sudden breast pain led to my diagnosis of hormone-positive invasive ductal carcinoma, which had spread to my underarm lymph nodes. Despite the initial shock, we found it early enough for successful treatment. My husband, researched and provided immense support. I also discovered a "de novo" BRCA2 mutation. My treatment began May 19, 2023, with weekly Taxol and bi-weekly AC treatments. Last chemo was on September 22. Next stop in my journey is surgery and radiation. I hope my story highlights the importance of early detection and regular mammograms. I urge all women to prioritize annual screenings for early breast cancer detection.
