When I was first diagnosed with breast Cancer in September 2022, Susan B. Komen was the first organization that reached out to me with both emotional and financial support. I was lost, I was scared, I was overwhelmed and my representative, Fanny, understood it all. For the next 6-8 months Fanny continued to check in on me at random times and each time she answered questions and put me in contact with different organizations. I felt her support and that of Susan B Komen and so now that I am well and stronger than I was I want to walk in this year’s walk to offer my support to this amazing organization and to all the women( and men) that will hear those fateful words ‘you have breast cancer’.
