MY STORY:

In January of 2021 I was diagnosed with Stage II Invasive Ductal Carcinoma of the right breast. My tumor was a Grade III which is the most aggressive. My breast cancer was not only Estrogen receptor-positive, but I tested positive for the PALB-2 gene mutation which also encompasses Ovarian and Pancreatic cancers as well. I was so fortunate to catch it as early as I did, or it's possible I would not be here today.

I went through 8 rounds of aggressive chemotherapy, a bilateral mastectomy, and a bilateral DIEP flap reconstruction. All in all, I have had 9 surgeries in 3 short years.

I have had many complications even though I am technically in remission. I am set beginning February 7 to do five rounds of IV Iron transfusions, as well as B-12 shots. Breast cancer does not end when your tumor is gone. It lives and breathes within you lying dormant just waiting to throw a curveball.
