Five years ago, in August 2019, I was faced with a reality that profoundly changed my life – the diagnosis of breast cancer. Just three weeks before my own diagnosis, my sister received the same harrowing news. Together, we confronted this feared disease, an adversary that had previously claimed the life of our mother at the young age of 47 in 2001.

This year marks a significant milestone for me as a breast cancer survivor; I've become a part of the remarkable Komen community and have signed up for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk.
