The Pink Rebellion began with a story that spans two generations.
Cindy’s mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007. After years of treatment, she lost her battle with the disease in 2013. Back then, Cindy walked for her mom as part of a team called the Booby Brigade.
In February 2026, breast cancer became part of Cindy’s story too.
After a routine mammogram, she was diagnosed with an aggressive Stage I HER2-positive breast cancer. She underwent a double mastectomy, followed by 12 weeks of chemotherapy and HER2-targeted therapy, with additional treatment still ahead. Now, she’s walking again, this time as a survivor, a daughter, and one of the 2027 Komen Warriors.
The Booby Brigade has become The Pink Rebellion, carrying that fight forward for a new generation.
We walk for Cindy. We walk for her mom. We walk for our own mothers, sisters, daughters, wives, partners, friends and loved ones. We walk for everyone who has faced breast cancer and everyone who may face it in the future.
Because breast cancer picked the wrong family, the wrong friends and definitely the wrong team.
