In February 2020, at just 38 years old, I heard the words that changed my life forever:
“You have Stage III Triple-Negative Breast Cancer.”
The months that followed were filled with chemotherapy, surgeries, radiation, fear, uncertainty, and moments when I truly didn’t know what tomorrow would hold. But I also discovered something incredibly powerful…I was never fighting alone.Researchers dedicated their lives to finding better treatments. Nurses held my hand on the hardest days. Friends and family carried me when I couldn’t carry myself. Complete strangers donated, volunteered, and believed that people like me deserved another chance.
Because of that hope… I’m still here.
Today, I have the privilege of being a Triple-Negative Breast Cancer survivor and leading Team Breast Intentions for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. Every step I take is for the people who are fighting right now, for those we’ve lost, and for the future where fewer families hear the words “you have breast cancer.”
The money we raise doesn’t just fund groundbreaking research. It helps provide education, patient navigation, emotional support, financial assistance, and resources that remind someone in the middle of the hardest season of their life that they are not alone.
