Reflections on Turning 58
By the time I'm walking to support the Komen More Than Pink Walk on September 26th, I'll have turned 58. That's a milestone for me, as my mom, Karen, passed away from metastatic breast cancer at the age of 57. I will have officially experienced a longer life than she did.
She did a lot of things in her 57 years - but loving us was one of the things she did best. As kids, teenagers, young adults, and grandchildren she always made us feel so unconditionally loved. Kind words and actions, hugs, thoughtful touches to the everyday and special moments and unwavering support during the tough times. We always knew she was there for us.
Please help me support research and treatments that will allow more people to live long, healthy lives with their loved ones. Everyone deserves to experience the love of those close them like we did with my mom.
Thanks for helping me honor my mom Karen's memory!
