This year, I joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. I have created a team named More Than a Survivor. My mission is not only to support the Komen's mission of ending breast cancer but to also help raise money to donate to help breast cancer patients with treatment, housing during treatment for those living far away from cancer treatment centers, meals, and transportation. 

My journey started July 2018 when I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. I have gone through 8-hour chemo treatments, lumpectomy surgery, 30+ days of daily radiation followed by maintenance chemotherapy. That 20-month journey took its toll on me and my family. And the end results of chemo are never-ending. I have endured several surgeries since then. 

With the grace of God, I am happy to report after being in 7 years remission I am an official cancer survivor. Now, I look forward to supporting others going through this very nasty disease.
