On February 28, 2025, at 32 years old, I was diagnosed with Stage 1, breast cancer, triple positive.

But that's not really when my story started. It actually began on January 11, 2025 in a hotel room halfway across the world.

I work as a flight attendant, and I was on a layover in Sydney, Australia when I had dream in which someone told me to check my breast. The next morning I woke up, remembered my dream, and did a self exam. Sure enough, there was what felt like a grape sized lump in my left breast.

What followed was 16 months of treatment: fertility preservation, six rounds of TCHP chemo, in which I wore a cold cap to save about 70% of my hair, a bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, six weeks of radiation, and 14 rounds of Kadcyla.

On June 24, 2025, I finally rang the bell and entered remission!!

A couple of months later, I was back in surgery for an implant exchange surgery as well as to remove scar tissue from my previous breast surgery last year.

For so long, I felt like I was floating while everyone else was moving around me. But every day since finishing treatment, I feel a little more energy and a little more like the person I'm becoming.

Last year I was incredibly touched, to be named Honorary Survivor for Komen's MORE THAN PINK Walk in San Diego and to have the opportunity to share my story with so many amazing people.

Having cancer at 32 is isolating and there were many moments leading up to the walk last year that I felt like I didn't have a place. As I stood on the stage and gave my speech, I saw the crowd nodding at my words and heard them yelling "YES!" in agreement. When I started to cry, I looked up and saw the same tears in their eyes.

I realized that I didn't have to explain anything to this group. They just got it.

I had found my support community .

It feels like that walk was yesterday. But this year, I get to return on the other side of treatment.

I'm walking again because while my fight may be over, the bigger fight is not. I look at my friends and think, We're so young. I don't want the next 32-year-old, or anyone to have to go through what I did.

Last year, Tanner's Breasties raised an incredible amount of money. This year I've been a little behind (turns out recovering from cancer and casually squeezing in another surgery really interferes with your fundraising) so I'm making these final weeks count!
