My Story
As many of you know, 2026 has not gone how I would have imagined. January 2026 started out with a HER2+/HR+ Breast Cancer diagnosis. This was found on my first routine mammogram after turning 40. The first few weeks were awful, not knowing if it was contained or if it had spread to other places in my body. After undergoing many scans, it was deemed to be isolated and the prognosis was very good. My journey consisted of 12 weeks of chemo and immunotherapy, followed by a double mastectomy with reconstruction. After treatment my tumor was completely gone, but I elected for the surgeries regardless. I have been so lucky to have had a journey like mine. I am overwhelmed with the love and support I have received from all my friends and family. I would like to give back and raise money for further research. Twenty years ago, a HER2+ tumor was much worse news, due to modern medicine they now have targeted therapies that really helped me. I want to raise money to ensure there are continued treatment options available to those who endure a breast cancer diagnosis.
