Most people don’t expect to hear the words "you have cancer" at 30 years old. I was originally diagnosed with DCIS with microinvasion and made the difficult decision to undergo a double mastectomy, believing I was putting that chapter behind me. But cancer doesn't always play by the rules.

At 34, I faced a local recurrence—this time, it was HER2-positive.

Going through the gauntlet a second time was incredibly challenging, but today, at 36, I am proud to say that I am in remission once again.

This fight is deeply personal to me, but it is no longer just about my own journey. Over the last few years, I have watched this terrible disease affect so many of my close friends. Breast cancer doesn't care how young you are, and it takes far too much from the people we love.

I am fundraising for Susan G. Komen because I am living proof of why their mission matters. The treatments that put me back into remission exist because of tireless research—research funded by people just like you.

We need better treatments, earlier detection, and ultimately, a cure. Every dollar raised goes directly toward life-saving research, patient support, and advocacy.
