Dewana Foster's Story
Welcome to Team Black Women 4 Boobs!
We are honored and excited to welcome you to our team as we come together in love, remembrance, advocacy, and purpose. This year, we proudly walk in memory of the late Dewana Foster, whose strength, resilience, and legacy continue to inspire us every day. She passed away on February 12, 2019, after courageously navigating both breast and ovarian cancer.
Dewana was a devoted wife and working mother who faced her diagnosis with incredible strength while continuing to care for her family and community. She was also a talented cosmetologist — beautifying the world one face at a time and specializing in all things beauty. Her passion, grace, and dedication touched countless lives, and we walk to honor her while helping create a future without breast cancer.
Our Mission
Beyond fundraising, the purpose of Team Black Women 4 Boobs is to help reduce stigmas and barriers surrounding breast cancer in communities of color. We believe education, access, and open conversations save lives.
This team is being spearheaded by one of Dewana’s daughters, Chandler, who will share mental health guidance and practical tips on starting preventative breast care — regardless of age. Prevention, awareness, and emotional wellness are at the heart of what we do.

Help Us Honor More Loved Ones
If you or someone you love has been impacted by cancer, we would be honored to recognize them as well. Please share their name and photo with us so we can celebrate their strength and honor their memory alongside Dewana during the walk.
Thank you for walking with purpose, giving with heart, and standing with us in remembrance of Dewana Foster. Together, we are stronger. Together, we are hope. Together, we walk for a cure.
For questions, please text Chandler (Team Captain) or Mylah (Assistant Team Captain).
