Tara's Triumph Team Story
Two years ago, I heard the words that no one ever expects to hear: "You have breast cancer." Fear, uncertainty, and countless questions quickly followed. But through the love of my family and friends, the skill and compassion of my medical team, and the hope that carried me forward one day at a time, I made it through treatment. Today, I am incredibly grateful to be a breast cancer survivor.
Cancer changes you. It teaches you to celebrate the ordinary moments, to appreciate every sunrise, and to never take time with the people you love for granted. It also gives you a deep understanding of the strength, courage, and resilience that exist within every person facing this disease.
This year's More Than Pink Walk has an even deeper meaning for me because a dear friend has recently begun her own breast cancer journey. As she faces surgery and treatment, I want her-and every person facing breast cancer-to know they are not alone. We are walking beside them with hope, love, and unwavering support.
Tara's Triumph Team is more than a walking team. We are survivors, family members, friends, caregivers, and supporters united by one mission: to create a future where fewer people hear the words "you have breast cancer," and more people hear, "You're cancer-free."
Whether you join us by walking, donating, or simply cheering us on, you become part of that mission. Every dollar raised helps support breast cancer research, patient support programs, education, and advocacy that make a real difference in people's lives.
Thank you for believing in hope, celebrating survivorship, honoring those we've lost, supporting those still fighting, and helping create a brighter future for everyone affected by breast cancer.
Together, every step matters. Together, every act of kindness matters. Together, we are stronger.
With love and gratitude,
Tara
