The picture above was taken of my identical twin sister, Cynthia Twisdale, the summer before she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Our families were all at the beach having a great time like we did every year. We thought we had all of the time in the world to be together. The next summer, instead of our annual beach trip, we were all rallying around Cynthia as she underwent countless chemotherapy and radiation treatments. A year later, July 28, 2008, Cynthia lost her fight with this terrible disease. After watching Cynthia bravely battle breast cancer, Bill and I made the commitment to continue her fight and do everything we could to prevent another family from losing a loved one. In 2009, we formed TEAM TWISDALE and with the overwhelming support of our family and friends over the last 17 years we have raised over $332,000 for the fight against breast cancer. The money we raise goes to breast cancer education, treatment, patient support and navigation and most importantly the research for a cure.... a cure that will give families all of the time in the world with their Cynthia.
