My Story
As a woman that has diagnosed with TNBC it has been a tough long journey for the past 2 1/2 years. All the ups and downs are now triggers for me each day as I push forward after surgery and treatment. The journey has been a difficult and even more so it has been difficult for me to open up about having cancer and hoping for a remission status someday instead of a dormant status. TNBC is by far the worst type of breast cancer you can have. It has a high reoccurrence rate and spreads quickly. I was blessed and fortunate that mine did not spread. However, it is constantly there in my mind. Not every minute but every day. I am reminded that life is short and my future is uncertain.
If you know someone who has had or is currently in their battle of breast cancer, I urge you to donate and walk in support of those woman and men. I want to continue to bring awareness.
The walk is a way for everyone to come together to support others who are struggling. No one asked for this but we must continue or fight. On 10/10/2026 (my bear’s birthday) I will be walking for myself. Last year, I could not do it. It was too hard emotionally. This year, I am going to hold my head high and remind myself that I am strong and even though I didn’t choose this, I have to stand strong for others. TNBC is treacherous and we need our community around us!
This year, I joined the Komen community and registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk. I am dedicated to Komen's mission of ending breast cancer forever, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s financial assistance program, or navigation services to break down barriers to care, Komen will be there for them.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
Will you please join me in this fight by making your donation today?
