Why I Walk

Breast cancer has touched so many of our lives. Almost everyone knows someone , a mother, sister, aunt, daughter, friend, coworker, or even a man who has heard the words "you have breast cancer. Some are survivors. Some are still fighting. And sadly, some beautiful souls are no longer here with us.

That is why I walk.

I'm walking in honor of the people in my own family who have been affected by cancer, including my mom and my aunt. But this walk is bigger than my family and bigger than me.

I'm walking for ALL women and men affected by breast cancer.

I walk for the person sitting in a treatment chair right now, fighting through another round of chemotherapy.

I walk for the survivor who fought with everything they had.

I walk for the families standing beside their loved ones, praying, encouraging them, and sometimes feeling helpless.

And I walk in memory of those who fought bravely but are no longer here to walk beside us. We carry them with us.

Cancer does not only affect the person diagnosed it touches entire families, friendships, and communities. That's why every step we take and every dollar we raise matters.
