Why I walk
When I first heard that my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer I was stunned. The beginning felt like we were in a black hole. However we quickly learned how strong our mom is and learned more about triple negative breast cancer than I ever thought I would. Watching my mom was incredible. Even with everything she was facing she smiled, she laughed, and boy did she fight. Now on the other side and her healthy I am so appreciative of all the research, doctors and care that helped her overcome this challenge. Finding out that there were also members of our family that have the BRCA gene made me even more interested in supporting the continued research of breast cancer.
This is the third year that I registered for the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk to walk with my mom, sisters, and the rest of our support squad.
