My Story:
Being diagnosed with breast cancer is the scariest thing that has ever happened to me.
I was diagnosed with IDC (Invasive Ductal Carcinoma) in December 2024 via a routine mammogram. I was fortunate that it was caught early, had not spread and genetic testing was negative. I had a bilateral mastectomy with immediate reconstruction. Unfortunately, I had a complication on the left side and after 3 more surgeries I am healing well.

While these are the physical facts, the emotional impact is difficult to put into words. I will forever be grateful for my support team - my Rack Pack! - led by my husband and filled with love and laughter from my family and friends. And, of course, the kindness, empathy and undeniable genius of my doctors at Mass General Hospital.
Why Do I Walk?
- I walk because I am physically able.
- I walk to raise awareness and early detection. I continue to meet women who do not get screening done as soon as insurance will cover it.
- I walk to support research. I was fortunate to have the best care possible at Mass General; the next generation should receive even more advanced prevention and care.
