Little Hands, Big Save

Our Story

I was diagnosed with triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma in my left breast the Monday before Thanksgiving in 2025. Everything after that was a blur of labs, scans, second opinions and fertility preservation treatments. Given the aggressive nature of my cancer, I began chemotherapy and immunotherapy infusions on December 22nd, just days before our son Dillon’s first Christmas and first birthday. To say that I was overwhelmed is an understatement.

All I could think about was being healthy enough to celebrate Dillon's second birthday, and all of his milestones to come. I called this team Little Hands, Big Save because I firmly believe that little boy saved my life. I discovered the first lump when I was breastfeeding Dillon and I truly don't think I would have caught things as early if it weren't for him. He is my guardian angel.

Susan G Komen's mission is clear: to save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our communities and investing in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer. In times of pain and fear, I reminded myself of all the research that's been done on triple negative breast cancer and how confident my oncologist was in my treatment plan. Instead of doubting my future, I tried to shift my focus to imagining it. Chasing it. Fighting for it.

I was fortunate enough to feel the power of my army of love fighting right alongside me, every step of the way. Let's show other breast cancer patients that there's a powerful community standing by their side too.

I hope you will consider supporting my team, by donating or registering to walk with me on November 7.
