Breast cancer has touched the lives of people I love — family, friends, and members of our community — which is why the Susan G. Komen MORE THAN PINK Walk continues to be so deeply personal to me.

Last year, I walked with a simple purpose: to stand beside those who have faced breast cancer, honor those we have lost, celebrate the survivors, and help create hope for the future.

This year, that purpose has grown into something even more meaningful.

On Saturday, October 17th, I won’t be walking alone. I’ll be walking alongside members of our 2800 Island Boulevard community — residents, friends, family, and team members coming together for one shared cause.

There is something incredibly powerful about a community choosing to show up for one another. Every step we take represents someone’s mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, aunt, friend, neighbor, coworker — or someone whose life has been forever changed by breast cancer.

By supporting my fundraising efforts, you are helping Susan G. Komen fund breast cancer research and provide services and support to people affected by this disease.

My hope is that every step we take brings us a little closer to a future where fewer families have to hear the words “breast cancer” and where everyone facing this disease knows they do not have to face it alone.
