My Story
In 2023, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. Thankfully, it was caught very early and after surgery, radiation and an ongoing drug treatment, the prognosis is very positive. That experience has made me very aware of the importance of early detection and the part that cancer research plays in the decline in breast cancer related deaths.
I also belong to a women's barbershop chorus, Skyline Chorus, where many women have been affected by a breast cancer diagnosis, either themselves or a loved one. Most of us know someone whose cancer has been fatal, and we're dedicated to decreasing that statistic through our support of the Komen More Than Pink Walk.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. Funds raised help support breakthrough research and provide assistance to those facing breast cancer today who need our support. Whether it’s emotional support via Komen’s helpline, financial support through Komen’s financial assistance program, or navigation services to break down barriers to care, Komen will be there for them.
Ending breast cancer needs all of us, and your generosity can make a real difference. Together, let’s show breast cancer patients there’s a whole community standing by their side.
