My story
In May of 2025 I was told the words no one wants to hear. “All three tumors are malignant, I am sorry, you have breast cancer.” I remember everything around me stopping and my world crashing down around me. I can’t tell you anything else that was told to me, except call your doctor. I sat there crying and wondering why this was happening to me. Then I dried my tears and decided I was going to fight and not let cancer stop me. I chose a bilateral mastectomy and during surgery it was found in my lymph nodes on my right side. That meant chemo and radiation being added to my journey. I cried again and then dried my tears and got ready to fight once again. It is over a year later and I have completed those treatments and had my reconstructive surgery. I am on medication for the next five years to keep the cancer from coming back and the side effects are not fun but I will keep taking them and fighting. I refuse to let cancer win.
